Guidelines and Compliance
Testing undertaken at the Laboratory is conducted in accordance with
APHA and AWWA Standard Methods for the examination of water and wastewater.
The Laboratory also provides a wide range of suitable containers and preservatives to assist in correct sample collection. Furthermore, the laboratory can provide expert advice on the most appropriate collection techniques, all in accordance with the Australian Standard and the The Northern Territory Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Environment Water Quality Sampling Manual.
Quality Management Accreditation
The Laboratory holds NATA Environmental Laboratory Accreditation as a public testing service in the field of Chemical Testing. The technical quality of the analytical services are prescribed by the NATA Technical Accreditation as set out in the Environmental Laboratory Quality and Procedures Manuals.

The laboratory uses ICPMS, ICPOES, FIA and classical techniques to conduct the analysis.
Northern Territory Environmental Laboratories participates in regular proficiency testing programs to ensure compliance with EPA and NATA guidelines.
